Curriculum and Teaching Methodology

The curriculum strictly follows the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) guidelines established by NCERT, ensuring there is no formal academic pressure.

• Play‑based Learning: Education is delivered through toys, puzzles, storytelling, puppets, arts, and interactive games.
• Mother Tongue/Local Language: The medium of instruction is kept in the child’s home language for better comfort and conceptual understanding.

Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) & ECCE under NEP 2020

NEP 2020 has fundamentally transformed early childhood education, making NTT/ECCE qualifications mandatory. The demand for professionally trained nursery educators has skyrocketed.

1. Mandatory Qualification for Pre‑Primary Schools

• For Anganwadi workers/teachers with 10+2: A 6‑month certificate programme in ECCE/NTT.
• For lower educational qualifications: A 1‑year diploma in nursery teacher training.
• Goal: Every classroom in private play schools, government primary schools, and Kendriya Vidyalayas (Balvatikas) must have a certified, trained nursery professional.

2. Shift from “Rote Learning” to “Play‑Based Pedagogy”

NEP 2020 strictly bans textbooks and formal writing stress for children below 6 years. NTT trains teachers to implement:

• Play and Activity‑Based Learning: Using puppets, flashcards, storytelling, indoor/outdoor games.

• Government Sector: Recruitment for Balvatika teachers in KVs, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and state government schools prioritizes certified NTT/ECCE applicants.
